Keyotte vs CapCut's auto background removal
CapCut is creators' favorite editing app, with auto background removal built in. Why use another tool? Sometimes you shouldn't. Here's when it helps.
Do you need Keyotte if you have CapCut?
Not always. If CapCut's auto cutout looks good on your video, stick with it: it's the shortest path. Keyotte helps when that cutout keeps the wrong people, wobbles at the edges or loses track mid-video.
They work together: Keyotte gives you a green screen file, and CapCut removes the green with Chroma key.
Where is CapCut better?
CapCut wins on speed: everything happens in the app, no export or import. It also has lots of effects, templates and caption tools Keyotte doesn't.
Which features need CapCut Pro changes between versions, and its price is only shown in the app: we couldn't check it. For a video where you're alone in the frame and well lit, CapCut's auto cutout may well be enough: try it first.
Where does Keyotte do better?
Keyotte lets you point at the subject with a click: everyone else in the shot stays out. If tracking slips on a frame, you fix it with a click, and you check a free preview before paying.
Edges are refined frame by frame, hair included, and you get an MP4 up to 1080p on flat green #00B140, with sound, which also works in Premiere or DaVinci.
| Keyotte | CapCut auto cutout | |
|---|---|---|
| Choosing the subject | By click, one person out of several | Automatic |
| Fixing | Click on the frame that slips | Depends on your version's tools |
| Output | Green screen MP4, works anywhere | Inside the CapCut project |
| Price | €1.99 to €9.99 per video | CapCut Pro price not checked |
What about hair?
On hair, the difference mostly comes from edge refinement. Keyotte runs every frame through a network dedicated to fine cutouts, which takes a few minutes for a one-minute video.
Compare on your own tricky moment: run a free preview in Keyotte and the auto cutout in CapCut, then zoom in on the outlines of both.
How do you use Keyotte with CapCut?
Cut out your video in Keyotte, download the green screen MP4, then add it as an overlay in CapCut and apply Chroma key. The walkthrough is in CapCut chroma key.
